This impressive sixty-meter-high waterfall dominates the hamlet of Cerveyrieu in the commune of Artemare.
Marmites, basins, canyons and impressive waterfalls make up this diverse site. A great hike along the Thurgnin Gorge.
Pain de sucre Waterfall
A curious conical stalagmite, 6 m high, located in a spacious, always-cool retreat, built over thousands of years by very calcareous waters. This limestone precipitates to form a light, porous, calcareous rock (tuff), once used to build houses and church vaults.

Waterfall at the Tines well
The site is spectacular at snowmelt and during periods of heavy rain.
Le puits des Tines is a high rocky basin, 6 m deep, located in the undergrowth. The water from this cascade falls through two holes dug by the current.

The water that flows out of the basin comes from underground streams formed by the infiltration of rainwater from the Haut-Valromey and Plateau de Retord.

While there are some thirty churches and chapels in the Valromey, the church at Vieu is one of the most beautiful. It is one of the oldest churches in Valromey (11th and 12th centuries).
The church was built on the site of an ancient Roman temple, with the re-use of flagstones and, above all, two columns.
